How to Reset SC 542 and SC 546 Error Codes on Ricoh Copiers

Steps to Reset Fusing Error Codes (SC 542):

  1. Access Service Mode:

    1. Press the yellow “Clear Modes” button.

    2. Now, press the numbers 1, 0, and 7 in quick succession.

    3. Press and hold the red “Clear/Stop” button for a few seconds until the screen changes.

  2. Navigate to SP Mode:

    1. Once you’re in the service mode, press the “Copy/System SP” button on the touchscreen.

    2. This will lead you to the SP mode.

  3. Reset the SC 542/546 Error Code:

    1. Scroll down on the touchscreen until you find “SP 5-810” and

    2. Select "Execute".

    3. The system will now reset the error code.

  4. Turn off the Copier and Restart:

    1. Switch off the machine using the red power switch, wait for a few moments.(around 10 seconds)

    2. Turn it back on.
